Ofsted Inspection

We had our Ofsted inspection on the 2nd November 2018. We are extremely pleased to finally announce that we were awarded OUTSTANDING in all areas of provision.

Our inspector Denise Farrington stated in the report that –

“Children develop close and trusting relationships with the nurturing staff team”

“Staff are exceptionally skilled in identifying and making the most of learning opportunities as they arise during the activities that children choose for themselves.”

“Dedicated leaders and managers share their inspirational vision for the nursery with the enthusiastic and exceptionally driven staff team.”

Christmas Bazaar

Our Elves have been hard at work all year preparing for this years Christmas quest to find Santa.

Come and meet Santa and his elves in the magical forest and help us spread some Christmas cheer! Monday 10th December at the Scout Hut 6pm – 8pm. To book your place on the magical Elf trail please call our chief Elf on 01253 407172 (limited spaces available) Please dress for the outdoors.

We cannot wait to share this festive event with you and your families; we hope to see you all there. Santa Claus will be making a special appearance, a range of games and stalls, refreshments and much more. To help make the Christmas fair a huge success we are asking for help from our parents in donating a prize for the tombola, bottle and chocolate tombola and the raffle. Your help and support at these events is appreciated.

We are taking bookings for visits to Father Christmas and his special elf woodland trail!

Christmas Jumper Day

On Friday 14th December children are invited to wear their Christmas jumpers in aid of the national Christmas jumper day. Children will be joining in lots of Christmas carols throughout the day and other festive activities.

Children In Need

Thank you for all your donations and sponsor to children in need. We raised the grand total of £360.66. The children really enjoyed their sponsored dance and making cakes for the cake sale.

Pre-School Nativity

The Pre-School children are very excited to be taking part in this year’s Christmas Nativity, which will take place at St Anne’s Parish church on the Monday 17th December, at 2.30pm – 3.00pm. We would like to invite all parents and carers. Shepherd lodge provide all the nativity costumes and if your child does not attend this day please make sure they attend the church for 2pm if they would like to join the nativity play.


We have now teamed up with Tesco for our nursery uniform. If you would like to purchase nursery uniform, please use the link provided:

There is a range of pre-school supplies you can purchase from nursery t-shirts, jumpers, trousers and skirts to nursery bags all with our nursery logo on.

Extra Session

Please can all parents note that any extra sessions that are required are to be booked in the office with either Becca or Lynsey. The session will need to be paid in advance before we can book any spaces. Thank you.

Nursery Fees

Please can I remind all parents that nursery fees are to be paid on the 1st of each month for that month, please can you ensure that your standing orders and vouchers are set up for this date and are amended to the September fee increase. Thank you.


We are currently collecting items for our role play area such as tubes of wrapping paper or scraps of old wrapping paper (role play for Christmas – Elf workshop).

Christmas Opening Hours

Nursery will be closing this year on Monday 24th December and re-opening for the New Year on Tuesday 2nd January 2019. We hope all our children and families have a wonderful time off together.
