Laura – Senior Manager & Early Years Teacher
Ba Hons degree in Early childhood studies 2010
Early Years Professional Status 2011 Lancaster University
MA professional Practice 2020 Lancaster University
I have worked for Learning Curve for over 15 years and have developed my knowledge of early years education through continued research, reading and reflecting on current practice. I am particularly interested in children’s emotional development and recently studied the impact of practicing mindfulness with young children as part of my master’s degree. Supporting children learn how to regulate their emotions and providing a safe and secure environment in which they can express themselves and grow as individuals is what motivates my work.
I am passionate about developing early years practice through supporting staff with their own professional development by mentoring and providing training. More recent training includes the introduction of a revised induction system, early brain development and supporting children’s well-being.
Proudest Professional Achievement
My proudest professional achievement has got to be gaining my Masters degree whilst juggling a busy home life with two young children.
