Shepherd Lodge Newsletter May 2019

Staff Changes

We would like to say a goodbye and congratulations to Ben our pre-school sports coach. Ben will be moving to our sister nursery Bluebell Lodge where he will now be the Deputy Manager. Ben’s last day will be 7th June. Replacing Ben will be Drew who has recently started with learning curve over the past month. Drew is a qualified sports coach; a lot of our children already know Drew through his visits from AFC Fylde when Drew would carry out our sports sessions on a Monday and Wednesday.

Graduation Photos

On Wednesday the 8th May we have Red Frog photography coming along for our pre-school graduation photos. They will be arriving at 10am and Red Frog will be providing the caps and gowns. If your child does not normally attend a Wednesday session, please can you ensure that they arrive no later than 9:45am to allow time to get the children ready for the photographer. If you are unable to make this date, please speak to Becca or Lynsey as we can arrange a time for you to go down to the studio.

Sunny Weather

As the weather is getting warmer, we would like to remind everyone about sunhats and sun-cream. We would like to be able to enjoy our outdoor area as much as possible, so please could you provide your child with a sun-hat, with their name on the label inside. Could you also provide sun-cream for your child and let us know if your child is allergic to any sun cream? Please can sun cream be applied before they come into nursery and if possible use an all day protection. We will ensure that the children are covered and fully protected from the sun and will avoid outdoor play during the hottest part of the day.

Summer Fair

Invites will be going out shortly for our nursery summer fair that will be in July. We are currently just awaiting a confirmation date and time of Shepherd Lodges graduation.

Club Day

Our theme for club day this year is the Lodges woodland adventures. We will be taking part in Lytham Club Day this year along with Clifton Lodge and Lytham Lodge Nursery on Saturday 22nd June 2019. In preparation for this event we will be exploring everything Woodland related through thematic planning throughout the nursery.

September Places

Places for September are now limited if you want to increase your child’s sessions and you are in receipt of the following from September please see Becca to avoid disappointment.
