Welcome Back and a Happy New Year

A very warm welcome back and a Happy New Year, we are excited for another action-packed year here at Clifton lodge!

Room Transitions

We have children transitioning to the following room this month and we would like to ensure that children have a smooth and positive transition. Your child’s key worker will be selected, and they will support your child while they are on visits. The `all about me` paper work really helps your child`s new key worker to understand their little personality, likes and dislikes it is important this document is returned to nursery prior to visits. If you have any questions regarding visits, please see Natalie in the office.

Maternity Leave

On Christmas Eve we said good bye to Ailsa our deputy Manager as she starts her maternity leave for the next 9 months and is due her little boy on the 2nd February. Dani will take over Ailsa’s role as deputy manager and toddler room co-ordinator we wish her all the best in her new role.

The Curiosity Approach

The Curiosity Approach is a modern-day approach to Early Childhood. Taking parts from Reggio, Steiner, Te Whāriki with a sprinkle of Montessori who are all early years theorists. Curiosity is key because it is the very foundation of learning. It is what drives children in the early years to explore, do, and think for themselves. And the key to fostering that curiosity? Well, that lies in the way you set out the environment. We will be setting up a curiosity area within our Lower Pre-school and would really like your help in collecting resources such as, wooden spoons, wooden bowls, small pots and pans, old CDs, pine cones and corks.
