Bluebell Lodge Newsletter – Autumn 2020

Welcome back Everyone
What is New at Nursery and Covid-19 Updates
As you may have seen on Facebook, we have been going back out on walks 😊 We have planned a walk route round the quit streets next to Bluebell Lodge which means the risk on infection from passes by is low. The lower pre-school trailer this walk last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Whilst on the walk we have been focusing on Letters and Sounds, Phase one, aspect 1 when listening for different sounds in the environment.

As the weather will begin to change and the Autumn months approach, we are asking all our parents to ensure all the children have the following each day:

  • Winter hat
  • Gloves
  • Scarves
  • Winter coats
  • Wellies

We are also asking all parents to ensure the children are wearing warmer clothes such as thermal jumpers, vests, trousers, cardigans, socks etc due to the fact the nursery will be continuing to keep all our windows open to ensure we have good ventilation coming into the rooms. This is to help continue keep the virus at bay as research shows poor ventilation in confined indoor spaces is associated with increased transmission of respiratory infections. We will also as normal continue to have some of our lessons outside such as our sport sessions and garden activities 😊

Staff Changes

Becca our nursery Manager will be going on maternity leave as of the 20th November and taking over her role will be the Deputy Manager Charlotte. Charlotte will be based in the office as of 1st October, this is due to potentially Becca leaving on the 15th October as she enters her third trimester of pregnancy. We are always keeping up to date with any new Covid-19 information and are ensuring that we are following all the government guidelines, if the measurements become stricter Becca will have to leave on or after this date.

Nicole our Toddler room co-ordinator will be taking over the role as Deputy manager, Nicole will still be based in our toddler room.

Covering Charlotte as pre-school teacher will be Jess. Jess will move into the pre-school room as of the 1st October where she will take over the role as the Early Year’s Teacher. Ben and Emma will remain in Pre-school, and Rob and Kaci will continue to work in the lower pre-school.

Halloween and Christmas Story nights

Covid-19 has seen lots of our wonderful events get cancelled over the summer and we are not prepared to let it cancel any more of our events. Our annual Halloween and Christmas story nights will still continue and to ensure we are adhering with all government guidelines we will be planning a night where you can watch our stories live via Facebook 😊 the nights will be interactive and we would love for you all to come online and join in with all our fun games we will have planned.

Christmas Newsletter

Normally in our Autumn term newsletter we talk about Christmas and all our Christmas events such as our pre-school nativity, parties etc. Our pre-school nativity WILL still take place and at this moment in time we are still planning how to do this safely. A separate all about Christmas and December newsletter will follow nearer the time when we have had time to plan and prepare all our wonderful Christmas things safely.
