Clifton Lodge Newsletter – Spring 2021

Welcome back Everyone!

Welcome back to all our children and parents. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support in these hard times. Your efforts with social distancing, wearing masks and helping to sanitise your children’s hands and shoes before entering nursery has meant that we can continue to make Clifton Lodge a safe place for the children in these uncertain times. Clifton Lodge do have some staff who are on the vulnerable list and they really do appreciate all that you are doing to make sure everyone is kept safe.

What is New at Nursery and COVID-19 Updates

As many of you are aware, we have entered another national lockdown, however we remain open as nursery to all children. To keep everyone safe at nursery we are continuing with routine handwashing, both staff and children, all frequently touched surfaces and toys are being cleaned down regularly and we are keeping our windows open in the rooms for extra ventilation. We are also asking all parents to ensure the children are wearing warmer clothes such as thermal jumpers, vests, trousers, cardigans, socks etc due to the fact the nursery will be continuing to keep all our windows open to ensure we have good ventilation coming into the rooms. This is to help continue keep the virus at bay as research shows poor ventilation in confined indoor spaces is associated with increased transmission of respiratory infections. We will also as continue to have some of our lessons outside such as our sport sessions and garden activities. We are reminding parents to ensure all children have the following each day and that they are clearly labelled with your child’s name for outdoor activities:

Winter hat
• Gloves
• Scarves
• Winter coats
• Wellies

New Spring Topic – Pre-school and Lower Pre-school

This month for our topic we are going to learn all about India. The children will be taking part in lots of different activities to learn all about the country of India. We will be learning all about where India is in the world, and how life is different to here in St Anne’s. We will be learning about different celebrations that take place in India and learn different styles of dance. We will do some food tasting and learn about the different spices that they use in their food. We are really excited to get started with our new topic and we hope you enjoy seeing what fun activities the children get involved in over the coming weeks.
