AFC Community Trust Showcase

Learning Curve Nursery Group physical education showcase. We had so much fun working with AFC Fylde Community Trust. Together we held a show-case event to celebrate our 1st year of having sports development officers in our nursery settings as well as the partnership we have formed with the AFC community trust.

Halloween Story Evening

Once upon a time there was a nursery called Butterfly Lodge. One day the children arrived in their pyjamas with their parents for a bed time story, hot milk and homemade biscuits. All the children enjoyed taking part in a special interactive story before it was time to go to bed… wouldn’t this be a great story to tell our family and friends that we have taken part in? We would like to invite everyone to our Halloween bedtime story evening on the 30th October from 18:00- 18:30. After the story time, each child will receive their own reading packs, so we can encourage reading books as a happily ever after.

Staff Members Of The Month

We would like to say a huge congratulations to Charlotte and Shauna. They have both recently achieved their English and Maths exams to enable them to study their Early Years Teacher Status. Additionally, they both are such dedicated staff members, forming strong bonds with the children and using their skills to ensure outstanding practice through out all they do.

Outdoor Play In Winter

Children of all ages enjoy and benefit from playing outdoors in all except the most extreme weather. Daily outdoor play is healthy and burns energy. It gives children an opportunity for a change of environment, a balance in play and routine, large muscle activities (gross-motor development). Even children who are mildly ill but active should go outside if the weather is not severe. Staff and children alike will feel refreshed when fresh air is part of the daily routine. Taking children outdoors daily, even in winter, can be a healthy part of their schedule, and is safe when clothing is appropriate. Now the weather is getting colder can you ensure that your child has a warm coat, hat, scarf and gloves.
