Summer Fair & Graduation
The time is almost here for our fabulous learning curve summer fair and pre-school graduation he fair will be held at AKS Lytham, Clifton Drive South, Lytham St Annes, FY8 1DT. Bluebell Lodge’s graduation time is 1.45pm, if we could kindly ask, please can all preschool children graduating be at the Pavilion for 1.15pm, this will give staff time to get children ready in their graduation hats and gowns.
Can we please ensure you are picking up your child on or before their finishing times – 1pm for the morning children and 6pm for the children attending all day or in the afternoon. This is to ensure the correct ratios are correct at all times and nursery closes at 6pm. There will be a late fee charge of £10 after these times. Please speak to Anne or Paul if you have any queries.
Forest School & Beach School
Outdoor learning plays a key part in our development. We have currently been taking part in forest school and beach school sessions. The children have been enjoying these immensely. These sessions give children the opportunity to engage in outdoor activities that helps to develop their confidence. As they become familiar with these activities they can take their new-found confidence into nursery and into other areas of their lives. It will also support children to learn how to solve problems and be creative and imaginative.
During the summer months it would be appreciated if children wore closed toe shoes or solid shoes to prevent any trips or falls.
Please can I remind all parents that nursery fees are to be paid on the 1st of each month for that month. Can you ensure that your standing orders and vouchers are set up also for this date, thank you.
As the weather has been so glorious lately, it is important to be sun safe. Please ensure you put sun cream on your child before they are dropped off to nursery. If you have forgotten do not worry we have sun cream that can be applied. We would like to make you aware that we still want to access the outdoors as much as possible and will ensure the children are kept hydrated throughout the day. If you haven’t already done so please can you ensure your child has a clearly labelled hat, spare clothes and sun cream with them whilst at nursery.
On Thursday 30th August we will be having an opening evening for all parents to explore their child’s room especially if they are transitioning to the next room. This is a great opportunity for you to talk to the members of staff and get to know your child’s key worker prior to them starting in the room. Though out the night there will be activities which you can get involved with and look at learning outcomes for these activities as well as discussions about letters and sounds and ideas on what you could be doing at home to support this.
It’s fast approaching a sad time of the year for the nursery when we have to say goodbye to the Pre-school children that are leaving to start a new adventure at their big school. Please can you arrange to give your child’s leaving dates to Anne in the office. This is to ensure that your child’s profile and transition document is up-to-date and ready to take away with you on your child’s last day.
